$11, 250, 000 for a house. What about the recession?

Is it really worth the money? Is any home worth paying this amount of money.
This building is designed in the Beaux Arts style that influenced many New York
buildings between 1885 and 1920 and whose most famous examples include Grand
Central Terminal and The New York Public Library.

Fifth Avenue is the most desirable and prestigious residential address in Manhattan.
Living in the heart of the Flatiron District means you are just a stroll away from
Gramercy, Greenwich Village, Chelsea, and Lower Fifth Avenue. Three nearby parks
offer both greenery and many forms of entertainment. The area has undergone not
only resurgence, but is now one of the most exclusive residential communities in the
city.

The Cupola set atop the building is the crown of one of the most distinctive
apartments in New York: The spectacular triplex features a sweeping corner great
room with a curved window bank facing up Fifth Avenue, a library opening onto
private terraces, and a master bedroom retreat at the pinnacle of the Cupola that
includes the magnificent arc of the dome. The Cupola Penthouse is listed at a price of
$12 million and can easily be combined with Penthouse East asking $4.750m and/or
Penthouse West asking $6.250m. Price shown above is for the Penthouse East & West
combined.

Apartment Interiors
Inside the Apartments of 141 Fifth Avenue, ceilings soar past ten feet and are greeted
by eight-foot tall glass doors. Four-inch plank solid walnut floors throughout add a
crisp elegance to the homes.

Kitchens are equipped with a Bosch dishwasher and Meile coffee system, as well as a
Wolf range and Subzero refrigerator. Pietra Cucina stone countertops, walnut breakfast
islands or peninsulas with carved legs, bookshelves, and Calcutta Gold marble
countertop complete the kitchen refinements.

The bath areas continue the sophisticated appointments of the living spaces. The
master bath boasts a Waterworks faucet and shower system, nickel shower enclosures
with rainforest shower-heads and luxurious handheld body sprays, a custom designed
mosaic floor, a bathtub alcove of wood and mirror with dramatic freestanding
Waterworks solid bathtub fitted with European style fixtures, and Wenge wood and
limestone double-sink vanities. These luxurious features cater specifically to owners
who seek an indulgence in their private spaces.

Remember When Lighting Up a Camel Was the Best Thing in the World?

We all know that smoking is extremely bad for your health, but not so long ago it was socially excepted and advertised as the best thing in the world. Heck, even doctors and dentists were advertised as smoking.

How about a great gift for Christmas. Ten packs of Camel.

Or if camel is not to your liking, how about some Lucky Strike.

Lose the pounds or Lose your dollars

Source

US Researches have found that money is a very powerful incentive for weight loss. If people are reminded of the cash they stand to lose the motivation levels will be higher.

Two methods were tried, one a lottery based method and the other one participants would invest between 1cent and $3 a day. With the lottery based system, participants would only be allowed to collect their winnings if they met their weight loss goal. With the investment method participants who didn't reach their weight loss goal would lose their investment, and participants that achieved their goal would earn an extra bonus.

57 participants were assigned for the research task in 2 groups. Participants taking part in the lottery group earned $378.49 and lost about 13 pounds while the investment group earned $272.80 and lost 14 pounds.

The big question is: if the money stops, will the weight gain start?

Just give me a second: 2008 is getting one second longer

Are you getting the feeling that the year is never going to end? Well the economy is not the only thing slowing down, the earth is also slowing down. This has created a requirement for timekeepers to add an extra second to their atomic clocks in order to compensate for the earth's rotation slowing down.

An International consortium made the decision to add an extra second to the atomic clocks. An extra second will be added on December 31st after 18:59:59 and before 19:00 EST. The leap year is already longer and by adding this second it will make it the longest year since 1992.

School for Santas

An amusement park in South Korea has taken the festive season to a new level with a school for Santas where they get great tips on how to be a good Santa Claus.

On Wednesday, November 26, Santa school students were getting together to master the skill required at Everland Park, 1 hour's drive for Seoul. They were riding roller coasters in sted of a sleigh, had to master dance moves as well as the Santa chuckle.
All students were given a graduation diploma at the end of the training. Stumble Upon Toolbar
